Dr. Baxter Hickey graduated from the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College in Toronto, Ontario with Magna Cum Laude (2019). He began his chiropractic journey when he was competing as a high-level Latin ballroom dancer. Since that time, his passion for health and wellness has flourished, which led him on his path to becoming a chiropractor himself.

Dr. Hickey has taken many courses and seminars throughout his educational career to best care for his patients. In addition to his course load at CMCC, he also completed educational seminars and training in Activator, Thompson technique, muscle release therapy, instrument-assisted soft tissue therapy, and orthotic casting. Additionally, he has taken Webster’s technique to assist in the management of his pregnant patients. He has completed training in many newborn, infant, and paediatric adjusting courses and even spent a portion of his clinical internship working at a paediatric wellness clinic before graduation. He incorporates rehabilitation of the body and proper nutritional counselling, in addition to mindfulness and meditative practices for stress management.

Throughout his schooling at CMCC, Dr. Hickey also found a passion for teaching. He became a peer tutor in many courses such as anatomy, neuroanatomy, physiology, and radiology. Since graduating, he has continued teaching on an international level by helping fellow chiropractors pass the Canadian Chiropractic Board Exams. He is looking forward to continue teaching on a global scale and sharing his passion and knowledge for all things chiropractic with his students and his patients.

On his off-time, Dr. Hickey enjoys a healthy and active lifestyle, with regular resistance training at the gym and hiking in the Rocky Mountains. He is also a volunteer group strength instructor at the Seton YMCA. During the winter, you can find him up in the mountains skiing. He is also well-traveled, doing many backpacking trips around the world such as the Inca Trail, West Coast Trail, and Nootka Trail.
